My mission is: to help people develop strategies and plans that make their life’s transitions less stressful and more successful where they live, how they navigate change, and how they make money.
MY REAL ESTATE SERVICES
As a second generation REALTOR®, my work is about creating connected relationships and building partnerships to help people successfully navigate one of life’s biggest transitions. I have lived & loved working in the DC metro area on and off since 1976, and am licensed in both Virginia & DC.
I love my Real Estate life on both the sellers’ and the buyers’ sides. For the sellers, it is about managing the many moving parts to get a house ready to sell at its best price – like cleaning, decluttering, fixing up & staging – pricing it right, and then getting from contract to the settlement table. As a certified Home Stager, I add the value to help houses sell sooner and for more money by making each room in your house look – and show – at its best. With the buyers, it is the thrill of the hunt and then negotiating the best price and terms for the transaction. My commitment to personalized service and client advocacy is complete – down to the smallest detail – whether you are purchasing your first condo, selling your family home, or purchasing a multi-million-dollar dream home.

Being part of KW Metro Center means that I have support from the best. AND, I have over 750 fellow agents in my local network across Northern VA to help market and find buyers for my sellers – OR – find the perfect home for my buyers.
My Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation from the National Association of Realtors plus my partnerships with senior-focused community organizations in Alexandria and Arlington provide my clients with access to the best vendors and services to make the complex process of selling, buying and moving much easier. My prior-career experiences in human services programs and professional coaching skills uniquely equip me to meet the buying and selling needs of the diverse “forever young” demographic.
Community Engagement: I started out by saying that my life’s work is about connected relationships, and coming from contribution is one of my core values, so community service that focuses on the communities I work in is very important to me. I am proud to sponsor and serve on the steering committee of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce’s Senior Focused Business Network; sponsor Senior Services of Alexandria’s Annual Gala, Senior Law Day and Oktoberfest and the Aging Matters Radio Program on WERA in Arlington, VA. Plus, I am an active member of the Rotary Club of Alexandria (Contributions and International Committees). Gary Keller says that the people you surround yourself with matter – the people in these service organizations are my heroes!
MY STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
In Virginia: to strengthen my real estate service model, I created an affiliated business partnership with my KW Metro Center colleague Christine Sennott of Elevated Home Sales Service. Together, we bring customized systems, processes and strategies in our services to all of our Virginia clients, with a special focus on seniors and families dealing with inherited properties. My work with seniors and estate properties combines with her strategies to get the most return for families for probated properties to provide a whole new level of care and service for our clients!
In Washington, DC: I first fell in love with DC when I came on vacation in 1975. When I moved here in 1976, I spent hours walking the city streets, soaking up its culture and charm, learning its patchwork of neighborhoods (which have changed over time!) and discovering out of the way “locals only” eateries and parks. So, selling real estate in DC is fun and easy for me.
When I started looking for my DC agent partner, it was important to find someone who loves DC as much as I do, and who has the energy, drive and commitment to excellence, and who provides the same level of service to clients as I do. Shaunta Lee is that person. Her tagline – Your Realtor Friend – describes her perfectly. She and I have partnered to support the growth of both of our businesses across Washington DC’s diverse neighborhoods.

My goal as your REALTOR®: to help you achieve your goal by presenting your home to sell fast AND for top dollar! As a certified Home Stager, I offer extra guidance and tools to help you do that!
Home staging is the visual strategy that sells your home for the highest price in the shortest amount of time, which is why I work with my staging partner to offer light staging as part of my marketing package.
PROFESSIONAL COACHING SERVICES
As a Certified Professional Coach, I work with people who are making significant life transitions, planned and unplanned. Whether downsizing the family home, going back to school, regrouping after a loss or starting a new business, coaching provides support and encouragement, and helps my clients clarify goals to achieve success more quickly and with less stress.
As a Realtor® who started my licensing course the same week I got my Medicare card, I have a special place in my heart for other Senior Preneurs who are planning and launching their 2nd or 3rd careers.
“Senior-Preneurs” are professionals and business owners over age 60 who turn hobbies, life dreams and career-honed skills into profitable businesses. We believe that the best is yet to come. We can’t or won’t quit working, and have the itch, drive and determination to define their next chapter’s success on their own terms.
Many professionals and business owners in their 60s want to – or need to – continue to work. For some, it’s about money. For others, fulfilling a lifetime dream. Some it’s the continued work in their chosen field as a consultant or freelancer. Others turn a hobby or passion, like writing, art or fitness, into a business. The options are endless –many already know what it is they want to do. My coaching model helps them learn how to do it with less stress and more success on.your.own.terms.
One of the best parts of my coaching work is that it allows me to work with people from different areas of the country, individually and in groups, via Zoom and distance learning platforms. My 40+ years of experience in human services and behavioral health, my Coach Training Alliance Certification and my commitment to excellence combine so I can best support my clients to make their personal or professional life transition “less stressful and more successful.
The Can Do Chronicles I am a strong believer in the power of stories because they open us up to understanding life, its mystery and its lessons more dynamically. The Can Do Chronicles recounts my changed heart and life following a series of challenging life events that include my husband’s job loss, a long distance move, a hip replacement and six months of chemo. Through the struggle, I discovered grace, gratitude and hope enough that I wanted to share in this book. Most of these events happened just over 10 years ago, yet the my Can Do attitude has endured through today.
Writing this book required me to own CAN DO fully, deeply and without hesitation. I believe that I am called to share my story. My hope is that people who read my story and learn about how I was able to knock that well-worn chip off my shoulder will make a connection and find inspiration to focus their lives on what they CAN DO. I want as many people as possible to discover the energy, joy and hope that an attitude of gratitude can bring in a world that is filled with struggles, fears and way too much CAN’T DO!
